Anne Bonny Swimmer Kitten: Annie came to me on 9/26/16 as a Humane Society of Huron Valley foster kitten with her mom and two healthy, boisterous brothers, but she had “Swimmer Syndrome” which made her back legs weak and useless so she scooted around by pulling herself with the front legs. That is totally treatable and I looked forward to learning how to tape her two back legs together to support them while she learned to walk on them. Then the day after I got her, somehow she lost circulation in her right back leg. Possibly her own internally weak and open joint pinched off the blood flow. And Annie became a Tripawd!

Annie is doing really well now and has learned to walk, run and balance on her previously weak and useless remaining leg. I hope her story is helpful to anyone else with a swimmer amputee.

We are VERY grateful you started a blog about Annie. She’s the first Swimmer Kitty we’ve had join us, and I have no doubt that your journey together will help others some day. Thank you so much. We send our best to all of you.

Thank you, Jerry! The Tripawd site was very helpful to me in providing encouragement that she could be a happy, healthy kitty once she got up on 3 legs!
